Bryan Mills is a former government spy, who got separated from his wife and daughter due to his job’s nature. The 2 girls of his life now live with a wealthy man, but its a part that brings another story.
When Bryan retired from his job, he wanted to win her girls back, but with his current situation, the only thing he can do is to use his skills to protect them.
His 17-year old daughter Kim never have forgotten him as his father, and they were very close, they were friends. Kim wanted to watch U2′s concert in Europe and since she’s underaged to travel without her parents, he has to ask Bryan’s permission. He was very hesitant to allow her but as a father who only want happiness for her daughter, he signed the papers despite all the worries he has in his mind, with few personal conditions. And the story starts here.
When he took his daughter to the airport, he noticed that she’s not just going to watch one concert, but follow the U2 in every city they go. His worries expanded but he just kept on reminding Kim of his rules, for her safety.
Kim travelled with her 19-year old cousin and when they arrived in Europe, they met a guy, asked him to take their picture, and share a taxi with him. Never they knew, that the guy is a lookout for a human-trafficking syndicate, who targets fresh foreign girls. He rode with the girls to their apartment and informed the criminals of their location.
After several minutes when the girls got to the apartment, some guys came to kidnap them. Kim had his father on the phone, and as a spy, he kept his daughter out of panic, made her describe how the guys look, and with the use of his spy gadgets, he then have useful information to track them. And of course, his ability to recognize human voice helped a lot as well.
Financed by Kim’s step-father, Bryan went to Europe to start his mission. The first thing he did was to check the apartment his girl went in to, and start investigating. He got his daughters mobile phone and kept the memory card. Then he discovered a lead to his targets. He gathered some information from his former colleagues, then went to the place the lookout usually goes for fresh fish. He recognized the guy and caught him in the act while trying to capture another victim. But before he gets the information he needs, the guy got hit by a truck, disappeared. But that did not cut the lead to his targets.
With all the information he gathered, he was still able to track down all the enemy’s involved, including very wealthy men in the line of human trafficking, and a former friend. In the end, he rescued his daughter, and that’s the greatest mission he ever had being a spy.
Taken is not an excellent movie, though I recommend you to watch it. If you’re into spy movies, Bryan Mills can give you the entertainment you need, because he is packed with skills like Jason Bourne, which by the way, Mo Twister’s most favorite Spy. I strongly suggest that he is better than James Bond because he works alone, without hi-tech gadgets and cars to help him. Just his skills are enough for him to survive.
