UPDATE: My fingers slipped and it’s not Rey Valera. That’s not what I was thinking. :P

I’m sure I did not hear about this from Good Times With Mo, because today, my ears were badly mauled by the iritating voices of the Love radio. I was on the bus this morning and I totally have no control of the radio. Stuck in traffic, Love radio surrounded the air in very loud mode called noise. Then suddenly the “Lumayo Ka Man Sa Akin” by Rey Valera Rodel Naval intros and guess what? It was not actually the “Lumayo Ka Man Sa Akin” lyrics but “Laklak”. WTF. I was again in a place called HELL during that time. At some point, it was cool to hear Laklak once more, I just don’t wanna hear it that way.

Here’s the complete song (original version) if you wanna listen.

Anyway, The Teeth has had some pretty good performances, good songs and fanbase during their time. One of their unforgettable song was Laklak and Prinsesa. Their fame started to vanish little by little when their vocalist Glenn Jacinto left to California. Other band members joined Mongols, Pupils, Sandwich and Pedicab, co-founded by Raimund Marasigan and Ely Buendia. This is another story by the way.

The 6 Cycle Mind have once messed up with The Teeth’s song Prinsesa in 2006. Prinsesa was one of my favorite guitar jam every afternoon during my days, but the 6CM did not fancy my palate of their rendition.

The Teeth Laklak Lyrics

Nagsimula sa patikim-tikim
Pinilit kong gustuhin
Bisyo’y nagsimulang lumalim
Kaya ngayo’y and hirap tanggalin

Kabilin-bilinan ng lola
Wag nang uminom ng serbesa
Ito’y hindi inuming pambata
Mag-softdrinks ka na lang muna
Pero ngayong ako’y matanda na
Lola pahingi ng pang toma
