Did Usher ripped a song from Homer Simpson?

I was driving one morning when I heard the guys talking on the radio about a song which Usher allegedly ripped from someone. And that someone was Homer Simpson. Of course we know it was a joke. But man, it’s an exact copycat.

Take note, Homer did it in 2003.

Noelle Cassandra LIVE, GTWM May 6

Last Thursday, we had Noelle Cassandra again on the show. She wasn’t able to perform as longer as before (you know what I mean right?), but she pulled off new songs from David Cook and Sarah McLachlan. Oh, of course, the Defying Gravity from GLEE.

So here are the songs, I hope you enjoy.

New Noelle Cassandra Live Songs

Last week we had Noelle Cassandra again on Good Times With Mo. Like usual, we were excited. That gigantic harp and lovely voice are really something.

I was able to record her performances but because I’m on a bus during that time, it’s a little hizzy… I say it’s still acceptable quality.

You can listen to Dance With My Father, the one that crashed the Angelicopter…

How to score free John Mayer tickets to Manila Concert?

John Mayer in Manila 2010

Coming this May 2010 is an award winning musician with name of John Mayer. I really don’t know what the hell this man has that he can make every woman’s undies drop when he sings. Guitar, keyboards and his voice are just some of the instruments he plays. He has a nice frame and pretty face, so I also kinda think that’s it’s not actually the voice and talent that girls are dying for him. By the way, she banged Jessica Simpson for several months and then dumped her. Just how cool this guy is.

He’s coming to the Philippines two months from now and as early as today, people are looking to score tickets to watch his concert. You can grab tickets from some distributors for a price ranging from 600 pesos for General Admission up to 12,000 VIP.

Now, if you’re the kind who wants tickets for FREE, you may actually follow your favorite shows on Magic 89.9 and you might be lucky to score. Every once in a while they throw games for callers and they give away FREE John Mayer concert tickets to the winners. They have been doing this for years already and if being lucky is not enough, you might also get VIP passes so you can actually meet John Mayer in person. And who knows, you might also be able to get a 1 second hug.

On Boys Night Out with Slick Rick, Tony Toni and Sam Y G, you can score free tickets to the concert by playing their Boys Night Out Karaoke Challenge. All you have to do is call and continue the lyrics of the songs they’re gonna play.

On Top 5 @ 5 with Andi9 and Jessica, you can score one by playing their hilarious guessing game. They mix usually 5 top hits and all you have to do is guess the songs in the mix in order.

And the show which gives a lot of VIP passes is none other than your morning favorite Good Times With Mo. They play a lot of games every morning. All you have to do is tune in and call and before you know it you have your VIP passes to John Mayer concert. Sometimes when Mo is in the mood, you don’t even have to play a game. Just call, if can bring some entertainment, tickets are yours. No sweat!

Chasing Cars – Noelle Cassandra Version and More

Noelle Cassandra, Singer, Harpist, Songwriter

Noelle Cassandra, Singer, Harpist, Songwriter

Yesterday, we had Noelle Cassandra once again. She paid a visit which we enjoyed so much. And of course, she brought her gigantic harp with her and showed us some incredible performances.

One of the best of the best song is her version of Chasing Cars, which mastered the night before the show. There is quite a technical problem with her mic, which sends feedback in some part and ruins my recording. Mo Twister has a better version which he will probably share with us in the coming days.

Here’s the version I get, plus other songs she performed yesterday. Audio upload is still in progress and so far we got 2 songs.

All other songs will be upload after I get home again tonight.

Empire State of Mind Part 2 by Alicia Keys

The VMA 2009 introduced the Empire State of Mind, performed by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys near the end part. After hearing it, my torrent client got busy right after, downloading the song. It was good, I can’t deny it. But this new version performed solo by Alicia Keys is better. That’s what I think, but I don’t know about you guys. Have you heard it yet?

One Day by Matisyahu

I never heard of Matisyahu, but I’m sure heard about his latest song One Day. It’s a reggae type of song, the lyrics were catchy, and I like it all in all.

Taylor Swift Monologue Song, Saturday Night Live

I’m a Taylor Swift fan, my wife can attest to that. Not a die hard fan though. She guested on Saturday Night Live, which by the way air every Saturday Night I think. She was funny and SNL was funnier that night. Taylor Swift talked about what she was currently feeling during that night in a song format. But it’s actually not a song but a monologue.

Good Times Rock Band Audition

Another genius idea, coming from the big mouth of the self-proclaimed Philippine Genius Mo Twister. Because there were already a lot of Rockstar Wannabes who has offered him a sample CD, so he can listen and promote if he liked it, he came up to the idea of forming a Rock Band of listeners. What I mean is, the band will be composed of complete strangers, strumming guitars, beating the drums and hitting the piano keys as one.

The Beatles

The Beatles

To be a band member, you have to pass the audition. The plan is, every week, there will be an audition on the booth for different instruments. Like, the first week will be an audition for drummers, second week is for lead guitarists, and so on. I’d like to audition for a vocalist, but I don’t even know how to turn a mic on. I can also be a song writer if they want an early ‘disbandment’.

Anyway, this is still a work in progress, and no final words if this is really going on. But it sounds like it. And besides, Mo’s ideas usually materialize. Probably we’ll be hearing more details about it in the coming days.

If you’re interested, you still have time to practice. Watch out for further announcements, tune in every morning.

There’s also no Band Name yet, but Mo has to be the one to give the name. But if like to share band name suggestions, please feel free to hit the comments section.

Good Times!
