As I observe everyday when I commute, offering seats to others on buses doesn’t happen anymore. It’s regardless whether it’s for girls, kids or elders. I can’t remember the last time I did it but I can still feel the embarrassment I got when I last did it. I offered my seat to a not-too-old lady, and what she gave me in return was nothing but a killer look. Yung parang ako pa ang may utang sa kanya.
After that moment, I defined my new definition of helping others. Not just on offering seats but helping others in general. So long as you survive, I will never help. So in other words, as long as there’s someone who can help you, sila muna. Ako yung last resort.
